Precision stamping molds are a relatively complex type of mold processing, and many components in industrial production are produced using molds. Therefore, precision stamping molds are a type of processing mold with a large production quantity and high manufacturing demand. And during the processing, it is also necessary to adapt to production changes according to different needs
1. Repeatability: The use of precision stamping molds has a lifespan: when a set of molds exceeds its lifespan, a new mold needs to be replaced, so the production of molds often has repeatability.
2. In mold production, there are sometimes no drawings or data, and it is necessary to perform imitation processing based on the actual product. This requires high imitation accuracy and no deformation.
3. The mold material is excellent and has high hardness. The main material of the mold is often made of high-quality alloy steel, especially for molds with long service life, which are often made of martensitic steel such as Crl2 and CrWMn.
4. High precision requirements for processing: A set of molds is generally composed of concave molds, convex molds, and mold frames, and some may also be composed of multiple assembled modules. So the combination of upper and lower molds, the combination of inserts and cavities, and the assembly between modules all require high machining accuracy. The dimensional accuracy of precision molds often reaches the micrometer level.
5. Complex surface shape: Some products, such as car covers, airplane parts, toys, and household appliances, have a surface shape composed of multiple curved surfaces, making the mold cavity surface very complex. Some surfaces must be processed using mathematical calculation methods.
6. Small batch size: The production of precision stamping molds is not done in large batches, and in many cases, only one set is produced.
7. Multiple processes: Various processes such as milling, boring, drilling, reaming, and threading are always used in precision stamping mold processing.
